Scan Driver License and Vehicle Registration Barcodes
THIS SECTION OF THIS DOCUMENT IS UNDER DEVELOPMENT. Coplogic™ Ethos includes a built-in barcode scanner that allows you to use your computer's camera to scan in data from a DL (driver license) or vehicle registration form. You can also use the barcode reader to upload a barcode image that resides on your computer. You can then pull the relevant data into a report to quickly populate fields with person and vehicle data.
Procedure

With a report form open in Ethos, click the Search Data icon in the right hand side of the upper
pane.

In the record search panel, click the barcode reader icon.
The Ethos barcode reader opens, along with your computer's camera.

Next, select the option your want.
To scan in a barcode Hold the document you want to scan up to the camera, making sure the barcode appears in the rectangle in the middle of the barcode window. When the reader recognizes the barcode, it scans the data into Ethos. To upload a barcode image that resides on your computer In the barcode reader utility, click Choose File. When Microsoft Internet Explorer opens, navigate to the file location on your computer, select the file, and then click Open to load the data into Ethos. -
Find the record in the results list and click Add to Form.
Note the following: - In order for the data in the record to populate the correct fields, you must be on the appropriate page in your form. For instance, to add Person information, you must be on a page containing fields for First Name and Last Name.
- You can edit the auto-populated data if necessary by clicking in the desired field and typing in the new information.
- After you have pulled the data you want into your form, click the X in the top right of the Search Data panel to close it.
